Happy 2012

As 2012 begins it is a good time to review our online shop and current fair traded world gifts. As a result it is currently not fully active or currently processing orders. We look forward to its relaunch in the spring.

Our events for 2012 will be available soon but follow us on Twitter so you can find out where we shall be during this coming year. We will be bringing along some of our clearance ranges to make way for a fresh new selection of hand crafted fair traded world gifts.

Don’t worry, our popular and favourite ranges will remain including Nkuku’s hand painted metal cups, trays and bowls and our delightful soft toys and puppets from Kenya.

Finally, a new year and a new address. See our website for details or contact us.

Fair Trade Fortnight 2011

Fair Trade Fortnight  is 28th February- 13th March 2011.

Like the FairTrade Foundation you will find many companies and organisations promoting Fair Trade products especially during this time. Buying Fair Trade products is much more than buying FairTrade bananas or coffee. The FairTrade Fortnight gives an opportunity to raise awareness of the United Nation’s Millenium Development Goals….by providing sustainable work to communities around the globe helping to reduce hunger and poverty.

Improved education to men, women & children and access to healthcare services will help improve maternal health and in turn lower rates of child mortality. Education can also help target reduction in aids, malaria and other diseases.

Buy fair trade products wherever you can. Support the producers in countries around the world to enable them to develop global & sustainable partnerships.

Further information on the Millenium Development Goals can be found on the UK’s  DFID global issues pages and the United Nations basic facts page.
