Most of our suppliers are BAFTS, British Association for Fair Trade Shops, recognised importers and follow the principles of Fair Trade. BAFTS had another informative and useful BAFTS trail for Trade Visitors at the Spring Fair at the NEC in February 2011.
Fair Trade is a strategy where by providing an international trading and support network, artisans and communities in the less affluent parts of the world have the opportunity to develop their skills and earn a fair wage.
Women are given gender equality.
Work practices do not involve child labour.
Producers are encouraged to follow sustainable, environmentally friendly practices.
Alexina Law endeavours to source gifts from Fair Trade suppliers or suppliers who only import from those artisans who follow ethical trading practices. Current suppliers include Nkuku, Kenana UK, Tilnar Art, Shared Earth, Siesta, Fair to Trade and Java Arts. We therefore support artisans in countries around the world by selecting quality hand crafted, fair traded and recycled products from fair traded sources.
