I am returning  to the school this afternoon in time for the library  books and science equipment delivery tomorrow. The school is fantastic-  it is one of our project’s sucess stories! However there is still much more we can do to help. Last week we set up a health club aiming to teach a sample of the students Life Skills which although is on the national curriculum is missed out of the timetable. This was a phenomenal success, with numbers of participant doubling over the hour session. Currently we are in Kisii sorting out orders for books and science equipment.

Last weekend we visted Kisumu and this week the quarries near Kisii. Just spent the morning in Tabaka at the soapstone quarries and the places where the soapstone is carved!! Spent a little time doing a bit of research on suppliers for Alexina Law as well.

Hello there!!

Welcome to my blog for my trip to Kenya working in conjunction with Kenya Education Partnerships.

Thank you to all those who have sponsored or donated to the project. My school, Masosa Secondary School is near Kisii in  Nyamira District, Kenya! I’ll be starting the resource investment programme there on Friday and will try to keep you updated from then on!

I arrived in Kenya yesterday morning and after a whirl wind familiarisation trip around Nairobi yesterday I am now waiting for a Matatu to take us on the five hour journey to Kisii where we will be staying for the next four days…

This blog is still very much a work in progress I have to wait until I can find a decent internet connection to write some decent entries!
